Year Round Book Haul

I am living in a province, there was no bookstore near me, and when I knew about Pandayan Bookshop, I don’t have the capability to buy books, or even to save money for it. I am now a college student and it is still taking me months to buy a book because of a lot of important expenses than to spend my remaining money to spoil my bookish desire whenever I want to! So ever single book means a lot to me because I really saved hard for it. Literally! Haha.

Introducing: My Very First Book Haul!

The first novels I bought on the month of June are pre loved except the one from a local writer, these are:

  1. The September Girls by Maureen Lee
  2. Brute Force by Andy McNab
  3. Habang Wala Pa Sila by Juan Miguel Severo

I’ve read the The September Girls after I bought it, it is a story of mostly betrayals so you really want to destroy each character when they commit unreasonable decisions and understadings. I am really frustrated about this book that I want to dive in it and wake up every character for their wrong decisions which is a good thing because for me, this book is made for you to actually feel what I feel.

I’ve read a few chapters of Brute Force and I don’t have the heart to continue it because it is a thriller! It makes my heart pound really hard when something happens so I am scared to read it just yet.

I’ve been eyeing for Habang Wala Pa Sila by Juan Miguel Severo, a local book of poems, because all the lines from his poems are giving me the feels that even though I don’t have a broken heart, I can actually feel the pain of every line. So when I saw the book, I bought it without having second thoughts! The waiting I’ve done is all worth it!

On the month of August, I bought 1 novel and 2 english pocket books, they are all pre-loved too:

  1. City of Bones and Chasing the Dime (2 books in one) by Michael Connelly
  2. Surviving Sam by Karen Rivers
  3. The Carousel by Rosamunde Pitcher

City of Bones was all about an investigation and little love story. I am nearly done with it! Obviously, I still haven’t read Chasing the Dime but it really seems that it is so thrilling.

Surviving Sam was a story within you’ll have your heartboken at the very beginning. And that was just a preview. I haven’t read it too haha.

I’ve read The Carousel, it was actually a nice story so I’ll rate it 3 stars.

My TBR list is growing and I am struggling on how to cope up because school works are piling up.

My last list: I’ve bought 2 books, 6 books in total was given to me and 1 book was a birthday gift!

  1. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
  2. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children Book 2: Hollow City by Ransom Riggs
  3. Madison K Series by Nina Kaplan
  4. Booty Bones by Caroline Haynes
  5. One for Sorrow, Two for Joy by Clive Woodall
  6. Elves of Zeoch: The Last Two by Kaden Hurley
  7. Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is good, I must say, but the flow of the story is actually slow. I rated it 3 stars.

I haven’t got the third book of the series so I am actually waiting for thgat before I read Hollow City.

Madison K Series! I’ve got it Β from Ate Jasmine from @jasminepearlreads on twitter. I am really thankful for it!

Numbers 4-6 I haven’t got the time to read those, I don’t know why but, I am halfway through One For Sorrow, Two For Joy. I like it actually.

Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda! This book! I really love it! I posted my review of this book, kindly check it out!
