Title: Feels Like Summer
Author: Six Delos Reyes
Rating: 4 stars/5 stars
Five-minute girlfriend. That’s what Jett signs up for when she meets Adrian and his band Arabella at beach music festival Summer Storm. One kiss and the attraction is too electric to ignore, but Jett has no room for love and Adrian is Mr. Relationship who’s getting over his recent breakup. The solution? Keep it simple. Keep it casual. For three months (that’s the rule about breakups, right?), Jett helps Adrian move on and Adrian shows up on Jett’s bed whenever she wants.
Then the three months are up and neither of them are in a hurry to be the first to leave. Does Jett walk away from a potential disaster or does she finally let someone into her closely-guarded heart?
I received an e-book edition of this book for a blog tour hosted by the author Six Delos Reyes! Thank you very much! This does not affect nor influence my review.
First, I started this book without knowing that the first page would make me smile, I started this without knowing that once I opened the first page, there is no turning back, and there is no stopping. You would want Adrian all for yourself.
Something urged me to start the book as soon as possible, so I did. The first few pages made me crave for more. All throughout the book, I feel loved, happy, and angry. There are times that I, can relate to Jett especially on friendships and fears. I found this story realistic in the point that we realized how much we need someone once they’ve stopped doing what they do.
I loved how Jett’s character developed, not as much but at least she developed. She overcame what she needs to overcome. I loved and her hate at the same time, she is easy to love, but can be hated. She saved herself, which everyone needs to do. We need to be independent. Next, Adrian, he is the typical boy you want for yourself. Not being biased, but I love his character.
Their love story is not a typical pairing that we all are aware for every love story. The friendships every character shares are irreplaceable, and unexpected friendships that lasts, like all of us wants. The fangirl feels over bands. These make it all so real.
I just find something lacking for me, Jett and her father’s relationship. I understand it actually, the main focus is Jett and Adrian, these things doesn’t really affect the flow of their love story. And I am curious about Rhys and Adrian’s friendship that will make me enlightened when I read Rhys’ story.
Overall, I love this book. It feels refreshing to read a unique love story that would actually catch your attention and reading this book is so worth it. I definitely recommend this book!
