Synopsis 1

When life, love, and rock and roll come together on the sandy beaches of La Union for music festival Summer Crush, expect nothing less than the crashing of lips, bodies, and waves against the shore, against each other, and against your soul. Allow these three tales of love to take you away for an unforgettable weekend. Ana’s life as a corporate warrior, graduate student, and girlfriend to indie rock band boy Miki starts to spin out of control, and she wonders if it is love that has to give. (You Only Need Reminding, Jay E. Tria) Newly reinstated EG Project roadie Filipina Legaspi flies with her band back to the Philippines for Summer Crush, unaware of the emotional waves that engulf her when she sets foot in the beaches of San Juan, La Union. (Almost There, Tara Frejas) Rhys has three problems: Arabella, the theme song with the Trainguy, and singing live for the first time—and now also on that list is Isaiah, sea-sweet Mango Rum kisses, and long overdue decisions she’s intent on avoiding. (Ocean Eyes, Six de los Reyes)

You Only Need Reminding by Jay E. Tria

What a great way to start the anthology! Ana is me, those unending deadlines, canceled appointments, and those sleepless nights because of accounting (student here, haha). Miki and Ana’s relationship can show you what true love is all about. Upon reading this one, this made me fly so high and I thought I am going to fall so hard that it’ll crash my system, this is really what I feel. Throughout the whole story, I feel love, hurt, happiness, and sadness. I really loved this one, every part of it.

Almost There by Tara Frejas

Hey, can you please tell me how to be happy? Fi and Gabe, a really wonderful couple. They looked so cute together, the way they talk to each other, the way they act together. I love it all. Yihwan, I am hurt, and this can heal, I know. The denouement for the MCs is actually wonderful, upon reaching the end, I realized that the story is justified it ended well but I am sad. Overall, it is also a great story, it made everything pierce through me and I love it that way.

Ocean Eyes by Six De los Reyes

I’ve been very curious about Rhys since Feels Like Summer and I love how this story introduced me to her. I realized that wanting something but not sure if it is really what you wanted is hard. I love how this story was executed, every word, every line. It is really well written that will make you fall in love, actually even the first two stories. No other words can describe how I felt.

Everything is well written, everything speaks to me. This anthology contains stories that are executed so well that made me love it all. I am lost for words because it is really a great book! Short stories written that contains every necessary parts to make it be completed and successfully stated. I admire the authors for creating a masterpiece like this.

If you guys are interested, I’ll just leave these here.
